    If you have ANY issues or questions in regards to the recent Epic Games Store update or any associated issues or questions please post them here.

    Between issues regarding connectivity and lots of questions about the new client I thought it be best to post a megathread that hopefully makes things clearer as things are getting posted multiple times. I will update it with resources as we go. Keep an eye out for any announcements. We will announce any hot fix when it eventually comes out.

    Hopefully we'll see a hotfix soon! TWI seems to be working on one being pushed out ASAP.

    Welcome to our new Epic Game Store players!

    We are excited to see so many new faces join the Killing Floor community. With the launch of the EGS build we have confirmed a few issues and are working on a hotfix to address several of them in short order.

    • Players are getting non suppressed logs when looking at the EGS server browser which is leading to logs which are gigs large which are causing performance issues on the CPU and hard drive read/write speeds
    • Some players are having issues getting servers to show up or find match-made games even after making sure the game is allowed in security software.     • Players who try and filter the server browser or matchmaking games with any filters but the defaults may hide all available servers. For now please only use the default filters. We continue to look into the remaining issues players report. See you on the Killing Floor!

     

    Matchmaking Problems: I can't connect/I have high ping/There are no servers listed/I can't join any of the servers/anything in regards to matchmaking at this time...

    • All of this seems to steam from a single issue. There is a massive issue with matchmaking currently being investigated by TWI. They are requesting information in order to get this fixed as quickly as possible. If you are so inclined, please click on the link and post requested information which I have copy/pasted just below this sentence.

    We've heard reports from several players that even after allowing the game through security software (firewall/antivirus) they still did not see servers in the browser or were unable to matchmake.

    We are looking to collect information from these players so we can investigate further into what may be happening.

    Please let us know the following:

    • Windows OS/Version
    • Security software used (anti virus/firewall)
    • A game log from a recent attempt to connect (located in mydocs/mygames/killing floor 2/kfgame/logs) Further requested information may be added to this list.

     

    My game keeps crashing!

    This seems to also be related to the matchmaking issue. (Tripwire thread Users are reporting crashing in the menus and upon start up. TWI is working on a hotfix.

     

    When will matchmaking be fixed?

    Your guess is as good as anybody else's. Tripwire is working on a hotfix. (I noticed in the thread that a dev said they were hoping to have something later today https://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/index.php?threads/epic-game-store-server-browser-matchmaking-connection-investigation-thread.2336211/post-2342103 .)

     

    What seems to be the problem?

    It's undetermined at this time. It may have something to do with unsupressed logging. (Apparently on EGS they are not suppressed.) From what I understand it is causing the game to create logs that are gigabytes in size. (one user report a 96GB size log) But don't rule out other issues being in play here.

     

    I found a bug, what do I do?

    You will need to go to the official TWI forums and post it in this thread. TWI devs do not actively browse Reddit and they have requested that any bugs be posted in their forum.

     

    I heard there was an Epic Online Services Beta?

    Yes, there is a beta for Steam that is supposed to allow crossplay between Epic and Steam players. For more information, please see this link: link More technical details can be found here: link

    How do I add friends from EGS to Steam?

    • Here's how to add friends on Epic Games by connecting to Steam or Facebook:
    1. Open the Epic Games launcher, and click Friends.
    2. Click the Add Friend icon.
    3. Click Facebook or Steam.
    4. If you chose Steam, click on your personal Steam account to proceed.(Tip: If your Steam account isn't displayed, make sure that you're signed into the Steam app on your device. Epic Games can't detect your Steam account if you aren't signed in.)
    5. Enter your Steam username and password, and click Sign In.
    6. Wait for the success message, close the browser window, and return to your friends list in the Epic Games launcher.
    7. If you haven't yet verified your email with Epic Games, click Resend Verification Email, follow the instructions in the email you receive, then click I HAVE VERIFIED MY EMAIL. (Important: You cannot proceed without verifying your email. If you don't see the verification email, make sure to check all of your email folders, including spam.)
    8. Select the friends you want to add, and then click ADD FRIENDS. (Note: Even if your Steam friends are playing games like Fortnite, they won't show up in this list if they haven't linked their Epic Games and Steam accounts. If you don't see them in this list, ask them to link their accounts, or just add them as Epic Games friends via their display names.)
    9. Repeat this process using the Facebook option, if you have Facebook friends who use Epic Games.

    How to get the Zweihander/Road Redeemer?

    See the DLC subreddit wiki entry for more info. You have to purchase the accompanying game on the same platform in order for it to work. If there are other issues, please post those in the comments.

     

    FYI: Guns may be costing more on EGS than other platforms.

    There has been one report that weapon DLCs are 11$USD when normally they're 9.99$ on Steam/Xbox One/PS4. I would be very interested in getting confirmation from other users.

    Cant open dosh crates, craft stuff, recycle stuff, no nothing. Could this be caused by how strained the servers have become from the surge of players from Epic?

    Killing floor 2 free on epic games but I just bought it on steam 2 days ago

    So I bought killing floor 2 on steam for the summer sale two days ago, and it ends up being free today on epic games. Is killing floor 2 better on steam or epic games? (I haven't even installed it yet on steam since I bought it, I'm waiting for my gaming pc to come in). Should I refund it on steam, or keep it?

    For some reason unknown to me, I have randomly Obtained D.a.r classic items, I have no clue why and i don't know anything about them, does anybody know why i have these suddenly?

    I CAN run the game but judging by the graphics and the gameplay, i dont know if i can run this game well. I have the bare minimum to run it, a Windows 7 64-bit. If there is a way to downgrade the graphics, will it run at atleast 20-30fps? Im not good with computers and stuff... sorry.

    So ,any ideas for a fix or anything like that?Yesterday me and my friend wanted to smash some zeds,but there was not even 1 server,neither it allowed me to create my own.Also the game freezes randomly in the main menu making it unplayable.
