A casual Zedternal server - 'Zedternal for Chads'

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 08:24 AM PDT

Hello fellas. I'm currently running a Killing Floor 2 Zedternal* server.

It's a server that has 32 player slots. It currently runs on Hard difficulty, but this is subject to change.
Within this server are lots of custom maps and custom weapons.

The server is Australian, but non-Australian people are more than welcome and encouraged to join.

To join, you can either find us in the in-game Server Browser, the server is called 'Zedternal for Chads'.
Or, you can connect directly by typing "open 203.208.85.194:7777" into the console.

If there are certain maps you want to be added then either leave a comment or message me directly.

Here are links to the Steam workshop for easier downloading and staying updated:

    FriendlyHUD: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1819268190&searchtext=HUD

    *What is Zedternal?

Zedternal is a custom game mode where you spawn with 0 perk levels. The waves are endless and you can buy your perks at the trader and upgrade your guns much further than the official game. There are Wave modifiers that make for interesting waves such as 'Horde'(hundreds of lesser Zeds) or even 'Chaos'(seemingly spawns every Zed of the wave at once, but this is unsure).
There are also Zed modifiers that appear every few rounds to make each and every wave more difficult as you go.

All in all, it's extremely difficult. I hope to see you in-game.

This will also be added to the LFG Thread

Anyone else noticing a huge uptick in toxicity in the KF2 community.

Anyone else noticing a huge uptick in toxicity in the KF2 community.

    -Not playing objectives

    -Kicking people for no reason

    -Not giving back doped items.

-Or my new personal favorite. Groups of people locking and welding people out of the trader area.

The list goes on. I'm sure there being a summer sale/event is part of the problem. I just preferred it when everyone just played the game and weren't a bag's of dicks.

P.S. not sure if this applies to the PS4 community or not.

What perk/class do you run the most

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 02:05 PM PDT

As you can only have 6 options in a poll I added what I think are the most popular perks, maybe comment what you run if it's not an option

I want to be able to use all of my headshot effects

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 01:26 AM PDT

It would be cool if we could have our headshot effect be random everytime we headshot a zed. I paid for all of them, i wanna use all of them at the same time

Killing Floor 2 - The State of Affairs

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 02:10 AM PDT

This post exists for a multitude of reasons. To give new players insight on its current state, to express my opinion of the game and what the devs are currently doing, and because I am bored.

TL;DR Buffed up Zeds in a grim game and Microtransactions are NOT improvements. They are downgrades.

To begin this post I want it perfectly clear that I enjoy Killing Floor 2 and believe it is a worthy successor to KF1. It's got a fluid sense, a majority of QoL changes that together makes the game much better, new weapons that didn't exist in KF1, upgraded ZED designs during events, accessories and Dosh Vault Crates aswell give something to actually work for which makes it more worth playing.

Now that that's out of the way, I shall begin and express the things I believe are... less than good. Let's begin with the obvious:

    • Beefed up Zeds

Killing Floor 1 presented a grim scenario: A horribly failed military experiment had left the subjects rampant. They ranged from anorexic sirens to overweight nasty bloats, Clots with Shock-therapy Patches on their temples, and Fleshpounds with veiny, muscular miscoloured bodies. Even the Scrakes, in their simple design, were terrifying. Something about that stare just gave me the willies. "This Chainsaw - Your Belly" is what I imagine he says to you. In Killing Floor 2 however, the designs were.. less than an improvement in some cases. Sure the Bloat was good, the Siren is even thinner (somehow) and the addition of the Cyst and Slasher was okay I suppose for variaty, but when it comes to the Clot they just made him angry. And for the Scrake and Fleshpounds... All they did was make them more beefy. Let me remind you the backstory for the Zeds in general are FAILED EXPERIMENTS - Failed Experiments do NOT have Peak Performance Ideal Bodies. Was there some event between KF1 and KF2 where they suddenly overran a gym where they started working out and then got a steady diet? Regardless, I am disappointed with their design.

    • DLC Weapons

When KF1 released their first weapon DLC - The Community Weapon Pack - There were a total of FOUR weapons you got for about 10 euros. This is a very reasonable price for 4 additional weapons, all of them for different perks, which raises the chance there is something for one of your perks. After that eventually came Community Weapon pack 2 and 3, all of them having the same idea - 4 weapons, 10 euros, a fair price. Killing Floor 2 has unfortunatly none of this. Instead, the devs, for some reason, have decided that releasing individual weapons, and tossing with them some skins will make them worth a 10:er. I can tell you, Devs if you're reading this, I will never buy that shit. For some reason Tripwire Interactive have decided to throw themselves into the Swamp of Misery and Microtransactions, with random crates and encrypted USB's. This is something I can somewhat understand, because gambling is addictive, and some people have too much money so might aswell. But releasing individual weapons, on your own in-game store, making each weapon cost 10 euros, and thinking "We'll just toss a few skins with it and it'll be worth it!" - It's not, devs. It's NOT worth it. It will never be worth it. The only time Skins are worth it, is if you work your ass off for achievements or challenges to unlock said skins, like in Advanced Warfare. This whole weapons costing 10 euros each thing you got going on? You won't be seeing me buy any of them.

Those are generally the two major things I think drags the game down from a 10 to a 7. It's sad to see another wonderful game like Killing Floor 2 be dragged down by these simple, yet also simply fixed, mistakes. All I can hope for is that the Devs reach out to their players and let them choose.

Thank you for reading it all.

If you could give just one tip/trick to a beginner playing killing floor for the first time, what would it be?

I'm not just starting KF btw, just interested to see what people would say.

I’ve only ever played KF1 solo, wondering if dlc is worth it?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 09:40 PM PDT

I noticed to get every dlc and another copy of kf1 is like 20 bucks rn, and I'm wondering if it's worth it even though I really only play solo. I was also wondering if playing solo is like a respectable way to play, or should I only play more if i play online?

PS4 chat - how does it work?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 04:24 PM PDT

Apologies for noob question. Me and a friend play together to catch up and chat we have just got good enough playing amongst ourselves that we are now venturing out to public matches. Is there anyway to have a chat between just us and not broadcast publicly?

If we use PS4 party would we still be on the in game chat as don't want to annoy people talking about our day to day!
